Steamed Cabbage (Fugad de Repolho)

Ingredients

  • 1 Cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 Onion, medium, sliced
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Green chilli, minced
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Coconut, grated

Preparation

  • Heat the oil in a pan; add the onion and garlic, saute for 3 minutes till soft
  • Add the cabbage, green chili, turmeric and salt. Mix well
  • Cover and cook the cabbage in its own juices for 10 minutes till soft, but not mushy
  • Add the coconut and mix well. Serve hot
